Meet our President, Afua Owusu-Ansah!Afua is a pre-law student, majoring in Criminology, Law & Justice. She is a member of the Castillo Law Scholar Mentorship Program, a Benesch LSAT Scholar and is a Urban Public Policy Fellow. Additionally, she’s an advocate for the homeless, juveniles and minority groups. In her free time, she loves going to the gym and helping others attain their fitness goals.

Meet our VP and Secretary, Thais Garcia! Thais is currently a senior majoring in Criminology, Law and Justice! She is super excited to graduate. This is her second year being a secretary of CLJSS. In her free time, she enjoys being with her loved ones, going on nature walks, and trying out new coffee shops. An interesting fact about Thais is that she has two one-year-old guinea pigs named Lu and Ruby.
Tahira Zainulabideen

Meet our Event Coordinator, Tahira Zainulabideen! Tahira is a senior double majoring in Political Science and Mathematics Computer Science. Upon graduation, she aims to attend law school in the long run. In her leisure time. she enjoys baking, cycling, and sketching. Apart from CLJSS, she is also involved in the executive boards of several student organizations such as HCAB, Mental Health Disability Alliance, and POLS Student Union.
Toni Smertene

Meet our Media Coordinator, Toni Smertene! She is a junior majoring in Political Science. She is on the Pre-Law track. She enjoys photography in the Chicago area. She likes to bake and also loves to spend time with her dog and rabbit at home. A fun fact about her is that she has been playing the clarinet for 10 years and piano for 5 years.
